The following new functions are available on CiNii Books from May 10.
Improvement of search specifications for the CiNii Books
By revising normalization process of variant characters and signs on CiNii Books, it became possible to perform search close to that which had been realized on NACSIS Webcat.
Displaying description and table of contents
Following book databases have now been incorporated. If there are description and table of contents, it will be displayed on book & journal details page.
- BOOK database since 2006 (Tohan co.,Ltd, Nippon Shuppan Hanbai Inc., Nichigai Associates, Inc., Kinokuniya Company Ltd)
- Nielsen Book Data since 1988 (Nielsen Book Services Limited)
*Description and table of contents are not searchable in the free word field of the book & journal search and not exportable at book & journal details page.

Search by uniform titles, alias names
It is now possible to search by uniform titles and alias names in the free word field or advanced search of the book & journal search. Changes of advanced search of the book & journal search are as follows.
- "Include Uniform Titles" checkbox has been added to the title field.
- "Include Alias Names" checkbox has been added to the author field.
- "Uniform Title ID" has been added.
Displaying Uniform Titles
"Uniform Title" in the Bibliographic Information area and "Uniform Title ID" in the Details area have been displayed.

Added OpenSearch response fields
The data of ISBN and ISSN can be now acquired through the CiNii Books OpenSearch.
