KAKEN - Available Data: Research Outputs

There are broadly two ways of publishing research outputs. Each has different methods of access.

1. Research-status Report / Annual Research Report

  • 1. Research-status Report / Annual Research Report
Research-status Report / Annual Research Report refer to the research conducted in each fiscal year. Entire contents are recorded in Research-status Reports and Annual Research Reports filed in KAKEN.

  • 2. Final Research Report (2008 –)
Final Research Report is the new style report used since 2008, which must be submitted within a year after the completion of a research period. The reports are filed in KAKEN in PDF format.
This report, however, is not available for some research categories.

2. Past Mandated Reports for Grantees of Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research

  • 1. Final Research Report (– 2007)
Final Research Report used to be submitted in the final year of a multi-year project. It was mandatory to submit it to the National Diet Library. In many cases, the reports are also held in the principle investigators’ affiliated institutions.
This report, however, is not available for some research categories.
Where Final Research Report Summary is filed in KAKEN, there is a Final Research Report.
