よくある質問 - データについて

Initially, CiNii Research imported only the data of academic journals (academic society journals, university bulletins) and Nikkei BP related journals from the data of the Japanese Periodicals Index, but, after April 8, 2022, all data will be imported. .

Initially, there was a bug that prevented the retrieval of "Full Issue" among the items in the Japanese Periodicals Index, resulting in data with no issue. The bug has now been resolved by displaying "Full Issue" as "Issue" in accordance with the specifications of CiNii Articles.

The current scope of the person search includes approximately 300,000 researchers and others whose Researcher Numbers were estimated based on information from Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research reports and researchmap.

Page 4 of the following document lists specific examples of individuals who are not included in the person search.

Researchers with a Researcher Number will not be included in the person search until one of the following pieces of information is incorporated into CiNii Research.
  • Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research reports with the researcher number of the researcher
  • The researcher's page on researchmap listing the researcher's Researcher Number (and through automatic association processing, works are linked to that researcher, making the researcher searchable in the person search)
Additionally, if obvious errors are detected during the information aggregation process—such as multiple Researcher Numbers being linked to a single individual—that person may be temporarily excluded from the person search results.

Research product and author (creator) information imported from external databases may contain incorrect IDs (DOIs, Researcher Numbers, ORCIDs, etc.), which can cause incorrect display of the relationship between individuals and outputs.
Additionally, while automatic estimation processing is applied to the list of research products, not all products are extracted due to processing difficulties. In the verification conducted in 2021, the automatic process extracted over 60% of the papers, achieving an accuracy rate of approximately 97%.
If you notice any errors or omissions, please contact us via the “Edit author detail” form linked from the person's Details Display Screen.
